Hey! I’m back showcasing all this fat…LOL! This cover up made me feel super sexy on the beach. It revealed just enough skin and the lace is beautiful. I also thought the length was perfect.
I bought the black one piece swimsuit because it’s sheer on the sides and the upper chest area. Both the cover up and the swim suit were affordable finds. The only problem I had with the cover up was the sleeves, I have a slight case of lymphedema from lymph node removal in my right arm so it is larger than the other arm.
Overall the fit was good, the swimsuit sucked everything in and the cover up left a little something to the imagination…while it was on at least. What swimsuit style do you prefer? and why?

Hi beauties…Happy Monday! I feel so blessed because every time I think about where I was 2 years ago, I have to give God thanks. I have to thank him for bringing me through the storm! I know that where I am today has everything to do with his grace and mercy. I want to celebrate life because this month is my 2 year cancerversary! In the cancer world we celebrate every milestone…small and large because we know how quickly that can all change.
I feel like jumping for joy and crying uncontrollably at the same time. It has been a very long fight. I pray that I remain in remission forever. I pray that my sisters and brothers fighting this disease every single day find comfort and support the way I did through friends and family. I’m living proof that you can bounce back and I’m proof that cancer does not dictate my life! What are you currently celebrating?
Speaking of celebrations, I attended ” The Beautiful Business Woman Brunch” this weekend..any excuse to drink mimosas…LOL! It was another women supporting women in business gathering and it was so worth it to go and meet other women like myself. One of the key points made by Divas With A Purpose was learning to celebrate yourself and your own accomplishments. She also talked about how celebrating each other is a win win for everyone. I just love the path that I’m on now, I’ve always had my own hustle but this event reminded me why networking and building new relationships is key to growing your business.
I’m excited to announce the return of my accessories. Anyone that knows me knows that I started blogging as a way to promote my accessories business. I later incorporated my blogging, I’m returning back to selling fabulous accessories because I do it so well. Stay tuned for the return of trunk shows and other affordable accessories!

Hi guys! I finally found a swimsuit that works perfectly with my shape. It also hides the scaring from my multiple surgery procedures. I remember when my biggest issue was hiding my stretch marks, I hated them and always wanted to find a way to disguise them. These days stretch marks are the least of worries. I have scars that tell a powerful story. My scars are a testament of my fight with a deadly disease, they may fade over time but they will always be with me.
I still have my port in, even though treatment ended last June. It will eventually need to be removed I don’t even notice that I still have it in anymore, its become a part of me. Radiation did a number on my right breast, it burned it so bad I have a permanent square shaped scar that just won’t fade away completely. I have to be extra careful with sun exposure because the area is very sensitive. I picked this swimsuit because it covered most of the chest area, in fact I avoid plunging necklines all together. I only have one implant and a expander, I’ve been procrastinating about getting the other breast fully reconstructed so I’m lopsided…LOL!!!
I think blue and the ocean go so well together. I especially like blue with my complexion and since I’m over the top, why not throw on purple lipstick? The cover up is the best, I’m really happy with both the swimsuit and the cover up. They were both really affordable and the fit was excellent. I had such an amazing time this past weekend, friendships like the ones I have make my heart smile. I was nice to just get away, lay in the sun, and be in good company. Life is so short I want to always do what makes me happy!

The Coachella Festival has come and gone but it’s totally inspired my summer wardrobe. I love how creative the fashion is during the festival. The people that attend wear fun, relaxed, and comfortable attire. I saw a lot of short shorts, sandals, boots, kimonos, and dope hair. The self expression is amazing and I’m here for all of it.
I wanted to post my own Coachella inspired outfit for my readers. I’m kind of obsessed with flowers in my fro at the moment so I worked the outfit around the floral head band. The festival reminds me of the legendary Woodstock Festival just less grungy because both are very youthful. I don’t typically wear shorts because I can’t stand my thigh
rub sticking together especially when it gets hot. I wanted to show off my gladiator sandals and Ithought the shorts work really well with them. The sandals are unbelievably comfortable and they fit nicely over the calve muscles. I chose a neutral color so that I can get more wear out of them.
The kimono was a must have, the print is really pretty and it jazzed up the outfit. It was also affordable, the only problem I had with it was the sleeves were a little too tight, they just made it over my elbows. Will you be trying the festival inspired look this summer?

I’m excited for this weekend because once I again I get to reconnect with old friends. A few weeks ago I took a little weekend trip to Connecticut for the Cancer Care Walk/Run and it felt so good to see old faces. I was excited to see friends and family that have always been there for me… before cancer, during treatment, and after the storm. My story made the Greenwich Times, see the article here! My friends and family mean the world to me, they have all helped make my recovery so much easier. This weekend I’m headed to the beach and even though, I don’t get in the water much it’s nice to sit on the beach and chill out with close friends.
I’m the worst packer because I’m so indecisive. I can’t make up my mind about anything because I’m always thinking…what if the weather is bad? what if I don’t bring something I need? I usually wind up over packing. I end up bringing the entire house and I only wear one or two items because I hate the fuss. It’s only for a long weekend and My luggage looks like I’m going away for an entire month. I’ve gotten better over the years but I think I still over due it.
I’m all about off the shoulder tops, expect to see more as we head into summer. In one of my latest post I wore a coral colored on one with plain blue jeans. I found this one at TJMaxx for $6…yes, just $6 bucks! I’m here for fashion but I don’t think it’s necessary to spend a ton of money. I love the tropical print, it reminds me of the islands and since I’m an island girl it works perfectly. I’ve had the pants for about five years. I purchased them at Kohl’s, the brand is Jennifer Lopez. Another trend that I’m obsessed with is fringe. I have a camel colored fringe bag about the same size as the black one featured in this post. When I like something, I’ll typically get two of the same thing in different colors. The style is not exactly the same but they are very similar designs. What trends are your currently enjoying?

I met the Ta-Tinis during my chemo treatment at SCOA in 2014. I was 34 and had been given the worse news of my life. At the time I didn’t know of any other women my age that had gone through this nightmare. After my biopsy results confirmed the type of cancer I had, I was sent for counseling at SCOA to go over my treatment options and to start chemo cycles. I remember being given a huge bag of stuff at the end of the meeting. It was filled with things that helped me get through chemo. The bag and it’s contents were put together by the Ta-Tini’s. I met them in person a few months later at a Young Survivors gathering. They are all super sweet and have really warm personalities. I was happy to finally meet other women who had been diagnosed at an early age like myself.
They along with SCOA organized the event. They have been doing it for several years and I love that they have found ways to give back, support, and celebrate women who fight breast cancer everyday. I hope to do the same using my social media platforms. I want to focus on celebrating life, self love and finding happiness from within.
The theme of the event was the 1940’s, which had such beautiful fashion. I thought I would put my own spin on it…starting with flowers in the hair, which I’m currently obsessed with doing lately. I bought a stem of flowers from Michaels craft store, the entire branch was $8. Each flower was adorned with rhinestones and pearls. The flowers looked so real and pretty.
I purchased the dress clutch, & shoes at Marshalls. I got everything for under $100. I’ve had the belt for years, not sure what retailer I purchased it from but it’s held up really well.
The event was wonderful, I didn’t take a lot of pictures because I was too busy stuffing my face, enjoying the music, and good company. Enjoy the pictures…I’m feeling lazy today…xoxo!

I swear I purchased a dress just like this from H&M last spring with a different print. H&M has some of the best prints and patterns in their clothing line. The dress is lined, fits really well and I think the quality is great for the price. I’ve been looking for more dresses to add to my wardrobe, most of what I have doesn’t fit anymore since my weight gain.
I’ve always been a girly girl, I remember my mother always bought me dresses with matching shoes and hair ribbons, dresses make me happy! They make me feel pretty and feminine.I love the length of this dress, it sits perfectly just above the knee. I decided to wear a belt but you don’t need to wear one, the fit is that awesome.
Since the dress has a busy print, I thought a neutral color shoe would work best. You can either go sexy with a pair of pumps or casual with a pair of nude sandals. Either pair of shoes work really well, for work I would wear the sandals, I would save the pumps for date night. My fringe bag goes everywhere so expect to see more posts featuring it. Which shoe would you wear?
Enjoy the pictures…leave some feedback…have a wonderful work week!

It’s Monday already….noooooo!! I want to redo this weekend because I had such an amazing time at Naturally Fashionable’s ” The Fashionistas Brunch” in Columbia South Carolina. I met Kim, personal style blogger and creator of Naturally Fashionable, she is even prettier in person and her personality is genuine and sweet. I loved that her family was there to support her, they were so much fun through out the event. I especially enjoyed meeting her mother and her sister, they are a beautiful family, Kim is surrounded by love.
The event was held at the Blue Marlin in a private dining hall, which made the brunch intimate and personable. We talked about trends that we either wanted to stay or one’s that we were ready to see go. Kim gave tips on how we can maximize our wardrobe with closet essentials. I shopped affordable pieces from High Maintenance Boutique, ate great food, sipped on some lemonade, and made new friends. Kim even gave some pointers on marriage, our image and self confidence as it relates to our personal fashion choices.
There is absolutely nothing better than women supporting other women. We all WIN when one of us succeeds. I believe we are all blessed with different talents and abilities, just imagine a world where we all got to shine without negative backlash. The Fashionistas Brunch was more than learning about fashion, it was about building healthy relationships with like minded individuals.
I was so busy networking, and taking pictures, that I forgot my grab bag…ugh! My chemo brain issues are real y’all…she put all kinds of goodies in those bags!. I hope you enjoy the pictures and recap…have a great week xo

Hi loves, It’s only mid-week and I’m already dreaming about Friday…LOL. I traveled to Greenwich, Connecticut for the Cancer Care Walk/Run for Hope, I had an amazing time. The weather was perfect and there is nothing like seeing old friends. I’ll post about the event in my next post. In the mean time, I wanted to share another casual fun look with you. I discussed why I love high-waisted skinny jeans in a previous post and here I am rocking another pair. The only difference is that these are a straight or tapered leg.
I found this off the shoulder shirt online and I think it’s so sexy. I fell in love with It’s soft cotton blend and coral color. I think it works really well with high-waisted jeans. I can either tuck the shirt in or wear it out, it looks great either way. I found the jeans at a local Burkes Outlet store for $9, they are by Gloria Vanderbilt . Her jeans have always been a favorite of mine for years.
The overall look is very simple and everyday. I wore the sandals in a before, I like the neutral color and the platform, it gives me height and makes my legs look a little longer. You can easily dress this outfit up with more accessories or other statement pieces and create a different look. I’m looking forward to 2 upcoming events that will require more dressy outfits, I can’t wait to share them with you all. Please enjoy the pictures and the rest of the week!

Hey, it’s hump day! I’m excited because I can’t wait to visit close friends this weekend. I’m taking a much needed break from work to have some fun, advocate, and share my testimony. I’ll be participating in this years Cancer Care Walk/Run for Hope in Greenwich, CT. I’ve missed the last 2 years because I was still in treatment and it was difficult to travel. I’m thankful just to be able to participate this time around, I feel truly blessed. I’ve wanted to do more traveling this year, I’m looking forward to some trips to nearby states like New Orleans for starters. I haven’t been there since the year before hurricane Katrina devastated the city. I would love to see how much it has changed and recovered since the storm. It’s such a beautiful place to visit because it’s rich in culture and there is so much to see and enjoy.
I’ve been picking up casual attire like this to travel around town and be comfortable. I think denim jackets are a staple piece in any wardrobe, it’s basically a must have for me. I purchased this one from a local boutique while visiting Charleston, SC, I can’t remember the name of the store but I’ve provided a link to get a very similar one from Forever 21. I’m in love with the fringe bag, I especially love that the fringe is long and the camel color is really pretty.
The dress is light weight, flowy, and feminine. It’s ideal for warmer weather because it’s a cotton blend to help absorb sweat and it doesn’t cling to the body. You can just throw it on and rock it with or without the jacket. I’ve had the sandals forever, they have a shorter heel which makes them comfortable. They have a nice mix of colors across the front. They are my go to sandals when I’m wearing earth tone or casual outfits. I completed the look with some orange lipstick that I picked up at Sephora’s. The lipstick is by Smashbox ” Get Fired” and earnings that I’ve had in my collection for a few years.
